The 3.0L and 3.2L supercharged V6 family — engine codes CGFA, CTUA, CTUC, BKH, CALA, and related — powers some of the best-driving vehicles Volkswagen Group has produced. Audi A4, A5, A6, Q5, Q7, S4, S5, SQ5, VW Touareg, Porsche Cayenne 3.0L, Porsche Panamera 3.0L. All of them share a core oil requirement: VW 502 00 / 505 00 or Porsche A40, SAE 5W-40.

The supercharger adds thermal load and oil consumption sensitivity. These engines consume slightly more oil than a naturally-aspirated equivalent — particularly the older CGFA units — and they are sensitive to oil viscosity stability. An oil that shears down under high-temperature load creates an environment for accelerated wear on the supercharger shaft bearings and the valvetrain.

Oil capacity

6.7–7.0 Liters / 7.1–7.4 Quarts (with filter). Capacity varies slightly by vehicle platform — confirm in your owner’s manual. After filling, run the engine briefly, shut off, wait 2 minutes, and top off to the correct dipstick mark.
