Oil Change Kit — 1.4L L4 DXGA / DXJA (Volkswagen 2019+)

The DXGA and DXJA are the 1.4L TSI engines found in 2019+ Volkswagen Golf, Jetta, and related platforms. They are EA211 family engines built to meet stricter emissions standards — which means they came from the factory equipped with a gasoline particulate filter (GPF). That changes everything about the oil specification.

Engines with GPF require ACEA C5 / VW 508 00 / 509 00 oil. This is not backwards compatible with older VW specs like 502 00, 504 00, or 507 00. Using an older-approved oil in a GPF-equipped engine accelerates ash loading in the particulate filter, shortening its service life and triggering warning lights. This is the correct oil: Liqui Moly Top Tec 6200 0W-20.

The 0W-20 viscosity also delivers a measurable cold-start advantage — a genuine benefit in a Quebec winter where most engine wear happens in the first 30 seconds after startup.

• OE-quality oil filter (Mahle OC9771 or equivalent)
• Drain plug gasket — M14 × 1.5 × 22mm

Oil capacity

4.0 Liters / 4.2 Quarts (with filter). These are small-displacement engines — don’t overfill. Fill to 3.8L, start the engine briefly, then check the dipstick and top to the correct mark.

Before you order
