Fitment
Oil filter for the BMW M3 E90/E92/E93 (2008–2013) equipped with the S65 4.0L naturally aspirated V8. This is the correct filter for the S65 — do not substitute with the N-series filter (HU816X), which is for a completely different engine family.
Important Notes
The BMW E9x M3 (S65) has TWO oil drain plugs — one at the front and one at the rear of the sump. Both must be removed for a complete drain. Oil capacity is approximately 8.8L / 9.3 quarts. The S65 requires 10W-60 oil (BMW M-approved, e.g. Liqui Moly Race Tech GT1 10W-60). Do not use standard 5W-30 or 5W-40 in this engine.
